This was the perfect book to listen to. I am pretty sure that I could not have captured the wonderful southern voices in this story in my head. We listened to this at work, and every once in a while we had to just repeat what was said - so much so that we now have to have E. Rucker Blakeslee days at work, because I am just going to need to say, "Boy Howdy!" and "I love your flower-dy dress!" This was a lively story, overflowing with an odd bunch of characters. The letter that Rucker wrote before he died is possibly the best "after I'm gone" letter I have ever read. It makes me want to buy the book, just so I can copy it for myself, and put it away for the appropriate time. Boy Howdy that was fun!
